When Loading Doesn’t Go According to Plan – Expertise Makes the Difference
The Daleth Group team successfully executed an international transportation project involving critically important industrial equipment under conditions where the actual cargo parameters did not match the declared specifications. In situations like these, there is no room for standard solutions – the outcome directly depends on the logistics partner’s ability to integrate into the process, make оперативe decisions, and take full responsibility for the result.
A key success factor was the deep involvement of the Daleth Group team directly in the loading process, rapid on-site situation analysis, and the ability to scale the logistics solution in real time without involving the client in operational matters.
About the Client
JSC “Ukrgasvydobuvannya” is the largest gas production company in Ukraine and a key operator of the country’s energy infrastructure. The company ensures a stable natural gas supply, performs drilling and service operations, and uses high-tech equipment that requires precise, predictable, and controlled logistics.
For the client, operational efficiency, accuracy in cargo calculations, and the ability of the logistics partner to respond quickly to changes arising directly during loading are critically important.
Project Challenges and Specifics
During the planning of transportation from Denmark to Ukraine, the client provided a packing list indicating the cargo parameters (gas turbines): 20 tons and approximately 100 m³, which corresponded to the capacity of a single truck.
However, at the stage of actual loading, the Daleth Group team identified critical discrepancies from the declared data:
- the actual cargo dimensions exceeded the declared ones, creating a risk of axle overload and violation of safety standards;
- there was a threat of missing delivery deadlines for equipment critical to production processes;
- there was an urgent need to scale transport resources without stopping the process and without involving the client in finding solutions.
Under such conditions, any delay or mistake could have resulted in downtime, financial losses, or disruption of production operations.
Solution
Daleth Group experts integrated directly into the loading process and built a real-time solution based on practical experience, technical expertise, and оперативe coordination of all involved parties.
Key elements of the solution:
- immediate identification of discrepancies between the packing list and the actual cargo parameters directly on site;
- оперативe recalculation of dimensions, volume, and weight, taking into account permissible axle loads;
- decision-making regarding the safe loading of the first vehicle in compliance with securing standards and safety requirements;
- instant arrangement of an additional truck on the same day;
- full process control and continuous communication with the client, including photo and video documentation;
- preparation of two sets of transport documents (CMR) corresponding to the actual cargo parameters.
This approach ensured process control and enabled a safe start of transportation without shifting the deadlines.
Implementation Stages
The project was implemented by the Daleth Group team according to a clear and structured algorithm, which allowed full control of the situation even when initial data changed directly during loading.
Each stage was carried out considering the actual cargo parameters and the real on-site situation, ensuring process continuity.
- On-site situation analysis
Identification of discrepancies and urgent recalculation of cargo parameters. - Cargo plan optimization
Proper distribution of cargo considering actual characteristics and safety regulations. - Transport resource scaling
Unscheduled deployment of an additional vehicle without delays. - Communication and control
Informing the client of all changes and monitoring the loading process in real time. - Start of transportation
Dispatch of vehicles according to the updated schedule.
Result
As a result, the client received a fully controlled and safe logistics process executed without deadline disruptions or additional costs.
Achieved results:
- all cargo was dispatched on time despite errors in the initial data;
- risks of overload and equipment damage were eliminated;
- the client did not involve its own resources in operational decisions;
- the logistics process remained predictable and controlled at every stage.
Conclusion
This case demonstrates that in complex logistics projects, the decisive factor is the team’s expertise during execution – not only the initial planning. Daleth Group operates in real time: analyzing, making decisions, and taking responsibility for the outcome.This approach allows our clients to maintain supply chain stability even in нестандартних situations.
