T1 Clearance for Container Trains Exported from Ukraine to Poland
The Daleth Group team successfully delivered one of its largest-scale projects. The high level of pressure was driven by the fact that the speed of dispatching entire freight trains depended directly on the accuracy and efficiency of our work. The key challenge was handling a large volume of documentation, particularly T1 transit declarations.
Thanks to our experience with similar processes, we were able to successfully meet this challenge. Learn how we implemented the project in the following sections of this case study.
About the Client
Representatives of the “ZKT” terminal approached the Daleth Group team. This is a modern logistics complex specializing in container freight transportation. Its primary destination is Poland, with occasional transit shipments to other European countries.
Although the provider has been present in the market for a long time, it lacked sufficient resources to process large batches of T1 declarations simultaneously. To address this issue, “ZKT” chose to cooperate with Daleth Group.
Let us say upfront: the project was far from easy and required maximum commitment, attention to detail, and responsibility.
Challenges and Objectives
The scale of the project was awe-inspiring, which became the main challenge for our specialists. After all, it is not every day that transit declarations T1 must be prepared within extremely tight deadlines and in near-industrial volumes.
Specifically:
- Several trains with fully loaded platforms were located at the terminal simultaneously.
- Each train carried approximately 50-60 containers.
- Containers had to be properly sealed, and all related data had to be entered into T1 declarations.
- Operations were carried out urgently, as queues formed very quickly.
- Any errors could result in the train being stopped at the border, leading to financial losses and penalties for cargo owners and customs brokers.
The cost of a mistake was extremely high. We had to move confidently toward our goal: accurately complete T1 forms and carefully verify all data. The main objective was to dispatch the cargo on time so that it would not be delayed at the border, and we succeeded.
Solution
Although T1 processing is a meticulous procedure, the Daleth Group team has extensive experience in this area. As a result, no serious operational issues arose.
Key success factors included:
- technologies enabling the simultaneous creation of dozens of T1 declarations;
- the team’s ability to efficiently execute large-scale projects;
- clear action algorithms to accelerate processes;
- stable communication channels with customs authorities;
- well-established cooperation with the customs inspector responsible for sealing containers.
Of course, the procedure required maximum focus and effort—but this is exactly our area of expertise.
Implementation Stages
The project workflow was as follows:
| № | Stage | What We Did |
| 1 | T1 preparation after receiving documents from the client | The Daleth Group team promptly reviewed the documentation package, entered the data into the system, and prepared T1 declarations in full compliance with customs regulations. |
| 2 | Submission of T1 declarations to customs | The service ensured electronic submission of T1 through integrated communication channels with customs, minimizing the risk of delays and errors. |
| 3 | Container sealing by a customs inspector and entering seal numbers into T1 | Daleth Group organized interaction with the customs inspector, monitored the sealing process, and ensured accurate entry of seal numbers into the system. |
| 4 | Completion of T1 clearance | Daleth Group organized an interaction with the customs inspector, monitored the sealing process, and ensured accurate entry of seal numbers into the system. |
As a result, we successfully fulfilled all objectives and achieved the client’s goals.
Results
Ultimately, the client was able to complete cargo clearance on time and transport shipments within the planned deadlines.
