Ukraine and Romania have resumed container shipping by sea after two years of continuous large-scale interference by Russia.
As a first step, Ukraine launched a feeder service from the port of Chornomorsk to Constanta, Romania. The first vessel, loaded with 370 containers, has already departed from Greater Odesa.
The resumption of this type of transportation will improve the conditions for exporting agricultural products and simplify the import of equipment and machinery. This route alone is expected to increase Ukraine’s maritime trade by 20%.
Ukraine is rebuilding its shipping industry with the support of the West, with a special emphasis on state insurance of ships and cargo at the initial stage.
Since the opening of the maritime corridor last summer, ships have visited Ukrainian ports 1140 times, mostly to export agricultural products.
Experts believe that the resumption of containerized shipping is an important positive change in the geopolitical landscape of the Black Sea region.
Daleth Group skillfully organizes international container transportation of goods all over the world.
